Black History Month

February marks Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of Black Americans throughout history. Their achievements and perseverance in the face of immense challenges continue to inspire us all.

This year, Enough Stuff wants to go beyond mere recognition and encourage active participation in learning and celebrating Black history. As a community, we can all engage in activities that deepen our understanding and appreciation for the rich tapestry of Black experiences.

Here’s an activity you can do, all from the comfort of your home:

Explore Black history through podcasts: Podcasts offer a convenient and engaging way to delve into fascinating stories and perspectives. Here are some recommendations:

1619: Nikole Hannah-Jones explores the lingering legacies of slavery in the United States.

Code Switch: Hosted by journalists Gene Demby and Shereen Marisol McDonald, this podcast tackles race and identity in America.

Black History Untold: Black History Untold, created by award-winning journalist Sofiya Ballin, is an identity series that explores the importance of a comprehensive Black history education through personal + revelatory interviews.

Still Processing: Jenna Wortham and Wesley Morris dive deep into culture, race, and society.

Bonus: Listen to a podcast episode together with friends or family and have a discussion about what you learned!
