March is Women’s History Month!

We put together a package for our Members with recipes for Unity Bread and women-empowering stickers.

2024 Theme: Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Founder of the #MeToo movement, Tarana Burke has been a prominent advocate for survivors of sexual harassment and assault, working to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

As a filmmaker and advocate, Ava DuVernay has been vocal about issues of racial and gender equality in the film industry and beyond. She uses her platform to promote diversity and inclusion both on-screen and behind the scenes.

As the President & Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund (LDF), Sherrilyn Ifill is a leading civil rights lawyer & advocate for racial justice & equality in the United States.

Actress Taraji P. Henson is not only known for her performances but also for her advocacy work, particularly around mental health awareness and destigmatization, especially within the Black community.

A labor leader and civil rights activist, Dolores Huerta co-founded the United Farm Workers union and has spent decades fighting for the rights of farmworkers, immigrants, and women.

Dr. Rita Ali, mayor of Peoria has been an advocate for diversity and inclusion within the city. She has worked to promote economic development and educational opportunities for all residents.

Dr. Sharon Kherat, the Superintendent of Peoria Public Schools, has been dedicated to creating a more inclusive and equitable education system. She has implemented programs and initiatives aimed at closing achievement gaps and providing support to students from diverse backgrounds.

These women, among many others, are actively engaged in promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within their respective spheres of influence, contributing to the overall welfare and progress of our communities.
